What is in your skin care?

It is very important to read the ingredients and research the personal products that you use. Skin is an organ. It absorbs everything you put on it. The liver is amazing and has 2 detox pathways, however the amount of toxins we are exposed to is more than our bodies are able to handle, which means we store the toxins. This is a reason that cleanses, juice fasts, and other detox protocols are so important.

Did you know your cosmetics, lotions, moisturizers, soaps, serums, etc. likely have many toxins, carcinogens, and other hormone disrupting compounds? Some of these include parabens, phthalates, BPA, dioxin, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, pesticides, DEA/MEA/TEA, and this is not an extensive list. Some of these toxins such as dioxin may not be in the ingredient list, but may be part of emulsifiers, antibacterial ingredients, etc. These toxins cause cancer, tumors, kidney damage, liver damage, joint pain, allergies, depression, birth defects, infertility, and many other issues.

In the not too long ago past, I did not pay as much attention to what I was slathering on my skin as I could have. Since studying at Health Mastery Institute, I have made a lot of changes in the foods I eat and the products I use on my body and in my home.
