Low fat, high carb
I just made fat free vegan cheese source from @krystinaguzman’s Latin-inspired Plant-based Recipes E-cookbook. ALL of our bodies are meant to run on a low fat, high carb diet. ZERO people are obese or experiencing chronic health problems due to eating too many bananas or potatoes! Whether you are maintaining good health or working on losing weight, reversing diabetes or cardiovascular issues, lowering blood pressure, etc. It is very important to keep your daily fat intake to 10-15% of your daily calories. (10% or less if doing anything other than maintaining optimal health). NO human body can process too much fat. (I substituted yucca for potato and omitted paprika to eliminate nightshades and make autoimmune friendly).
I started using a free ap on my pone called MyPlate to help see what this amount of fat really looks like. I will tell you; it is way less that I was eating, or what my guestimation even was.
Most people try to get around this because they do not want to lower the fat in their diet. There are many extremely damaging fad diets that claim you need to do the opposite in order to keep people stuck in these stories. The founder of one of the big and damaging diets was obese and had a history of heart attacks, congestive heart failure and hypertension. Our cells run on carbs (glucose), not fat.
Fatty foods, processed foods, high processed sugar foods, etc. are ways many of us have used to numb out. There are many reasons people numb out. Most are due to symptoms of trauma such as anxiety, fear, low self -worth/self-hatred, etc. If you are thriving and happy with your life and when you look around at all areas of your life you can say this is exactly the life of my dreams, than keep on doing what you are doing! If not, consider making a change. Physical health is a great place to start. When you feel better and have more energy, it is a great catalyst to continue making changes. It is not possible to heal mental health issues in a sick body. What are you willing to change today?
